Mary Anne Chappel FIPA

Director, Principal

Mary Anne has an Associate Diploma in Business, is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants, registered Public Practitioner, a registered Tax Agent and is certified in Xero Accounting Software. She is a Director of Chappel Accounting Pty Ltd and retains part ownership of the Company, which was established by her in October 1997. Mary Anne has well over 30 years of experience in the profession, covering many different industries including but not exclusive to building and electrical, retail and service, legal and medical with her speciality and vast experience in primary production. Mary Anne is widely recognised locally and throughout North West Queensland for her impeccable ethics and integrity, being approachable, obliging, open and honest while meeting every client on an even playing field. Loyalty is a two-way street and reciprocated with the team and clients alike.

Outside the office, Mary Anne enjoys spending time with her family. Her love of tennis and playing fixtures is one way of staying fit. Travelling Australia and seeing the world is a dream that’s being made a reality!

Jeff Pringle CA

Director, Principal

Jeff is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand, is a registered Tax Agent and retains part ownership of the Company. He has a Bachelor of Administration Accounting from JCU and a Masters of Taxation from UNSW. His accountancy career began in 2000 in Mission Beach and started working in Townsville in 2002. After making fun of teachers for many years, he discovered he really enjoyed teaching and was lucky enough to be offered various teaching roles with the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Townsville – Taxation & Management Accountant modules; H & R Block Tax course; Masters of Professional Accounting, JCU – Advanced Issues in Accounting; Masters of Business Administration, JCU – Accounting for Decision Makers.

From very humble beginnings in Cairns, Jeff knew from a young age that he only wanted to be an accountant and to have his own business and today as an Equity Partner with Chappel Accounting Pty Ltd, he has fulfilled his lifelong dream. He says, “I am the opposite of a Santa Claus accountant, because what makes me unique is my ability to communicate with people. Other accountants won’t return your phone calls or reply to your emails and only contact you when they want something or have bad news. With my clients, I believe in regular communication and checking in with how they are going, what’s happening with their family, talking about their business and what’s the next step.”

Outside the office, Jeff enjoys exploring all that this city and surrounds has to offer with his wonderful wife Alicia, who used to be a travel agent, and their son Lincoln. She has a profound love for travel, (which is ironic as Jeff finds air travel makes him rather anxious) but play dates are great! His creative streak includes cartooning, because someone told him he couldn’t draw a straight line and he wanted to prove them wrong. He has written a book covering a lot of issues that are important for business owners to know and understand but accountants have trouble explaining. He really enjoys coming up with simple and easy ways of communicating difficult and complex topics and takes great joy in seeing other people succeed in business and in life.

Samantha Dixon

Business Practice Manager

Samantha rejoined Chappel Accounting Pty Ltd in 2020, after a career break opportunity. She is our Business Practice Manager and has over nine years of experience in Business Administration, a Certificate III in Business Administration and is certified in Xero Accounting Software. Samantha’s attention to detail, her excellent communication skills and forward-thinking initiative is why we find her a valuable member of our Team. She takes every opportunity to develop and maintain great working relationships.

Outside the office, Samantha loves spending time with family and travelling. Her love for Indoor Cricket has seen her travel the world, representing Queensland and Australia numerous times. Keeping fit is a passion and thoroughly enjoys running.

Kristen Watson CPA

Senior Accountant

Kristen is our Senior Accountant with over 17 years of experience, joining Chappel Accounting Pty Ltd in 2008. She is a Certified Practicing Accountant and has a Bachelor of Commerce, specialising in Accountancy & Finance. Her specialties are dealing with individual (wage earners), small business taxation and financial statements. Kristen’s capabilities and achievements are a result of her thoroughness and due diligence in every aspect of her profession! Loyal and dedicated to the core is our quiet achiever, appreciated by clients and staff alike.

Outside the office, Kristen loves the precious time spent with her family, husband Karl, beautiful daughters Kailyn and Kendyll and pampered pooch Winnie. She enjoys keeping her hands busy with her real estate portfolio and when time permits loves making use of living by the coast, while soaking up the sun, surf and sand.

Leesa Griffin

Senior Accountant

Leesa joined Chappel Accounting Pty Ltd in April 2024 bringing with her over 33 years experience in the accounting industry – fourteen years in tax, ten in super funds and nine in management accounting. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a Certified Practicing Accountant. Leesa positive attitude and her love for working in a team environment is well suited to our Company.

Outside the office, Leesa is a wife to a fab husband and mother of 3, twin daughters 17 and a son 14. Time for self is limited presently but her love and passion for helping her children achieve their dreams is what makes Leesa happy.  Her interests include a love for sun, the beach, her family, the Cowboys, theatre and dance/arts.

Janelle Richards

Accountant

Janelle joined Chappel Accounting in 2025, having completed her accounting degree in 2024 following through on a desire to study accounting after completing a Certificate III in Business Administration. Janelle has a keen interest in learning, with a can-do attitude and an ambitious drive.

Outside the office having recently moved from the Sunshine Coast, Janelle enjoys bushwalking, attending Parkrun and exploring social groups through Meetup and Facebook.

Crystal Watts

Graduate Accountant

Crystal joined Chappel Accounting in 2022 bringing with her a can-do attitude and a willingness to embrace new learning. She completed her accounting degree in 2024 and is embracing this new role with great ambition.

Outside the office, Crystal loves heading home to see her family. She enjoys camping, travelling, swimming and time at the gym.

Ryan Baxter

Graduate Accountant

Ryan joined Chappel Accounting Pty Ltd in 2022 and completed his accounting degree in 2024. He thrives on taking up a challenge, has a very positive can-do attitude and is always keen to learn more and help out where possible.

Outside the office, Ryan keeps fit by playing sports with friends. Spending time with family and socializing with friends is also very important to him.

Jane Rogers

Senior Bookkeeper

Jane rejoined Chappel Accounting Pty Ltd in 2021, bringing with her additional experience from roles in administration, banking and retail. She holds a Certificate 3 in Education support and worked for QLD Education for 12 years. Jane completed her Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping in November 2021. She holds a current membership with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers Australia.

Outside the office, Jane owns and works on a small cattle property near Hughenden. She enjoys yoga, walking catching up with friends and spending time with family.

Sarah Bryden

Senior Bookkeeper

Sarah joined Chappel Accounting Pty Ltd in 2021, holds a Certificate 3 in Business Administration and undertaking studies for a Certificate 4. With seven years of experience as a bookkeeper/administrator within the Childcare Industry, Sarah brings to the Company a friendly and approachable team member attitude, eager to learn and further her knowledge in accounting to help support the business and clients.

Maureen Watkin

Senior Bookkeeper – casual

Maureen was our senior Bookkeeper at Chappel Accounting Pty Ltd since 2008 and finished working in the office in December 2021, taking up a casual working from home status due to semi retirement. Her experience of over 24years has seen many and varied changes in this line of work, with her specialties including BAS and data entry work. She continues to maintain a positive, pleasant, helpful attitude and still a very valuable member of the Team, with an exceptional understanding of the client’s needs. Maureen is still contactable by email or her personal mobile.

Outside the office, Maureen enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, and camping out in style to get away from the buzz of the city to the quiet of the bush! She loves to attend all team birthday celebrations, staff meetings & training in the office, and any team social activities outside the office.

Emma Price

Bookkeeper, Administrator

Emma joined Chappel Accounting Pty Ltd in 2022, bringing over 10 years’ experience in the real estate industry and 18years administrator experience. She has a sound background in sales, business administration & all facets of account management.

Outside the office,  Emma enjoys her family time, often found at the local park, waterpark, or off having an adventure with her son.  Her favourite pastime is travelling & enjoying a cold beer in a new place.
